The Southwest Regional Transportation Planning Organization (SORTPO) invites the public to participate in a community meeting for the Forward 45 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) tomorrow, October 22, 2024, at the Arrowhead Center, located at 600 Western Dr, Elk City, OK 73644. The meeting will take place from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM in Multi-Purpose Room B.
The Forward 45 RTP is a comprehensive, long-term strategic initiative designed to guide transportation planning and decision-making in Southwest Oklahoma for the next 20 years. This plan focuses on improving transportation safety, preserving infrastructure, enhancing the quality of life for residents, supporting economic development, and mitigating environmental impacts.
Key goals of the Forward 45 Plan include:
Safety: Enhancing safety across all modes of transportation.
Preservation: Ensuring the durability and longevity of Southwest Oklahoma’s transportation system.
Quality of Life: Developing a system that improves accessibility and livability for residents.
Economy: Supporting economic growth through efficient transportation options.

Public input is crucial to shaping the plan’s priorities and ensuring it meets the needs of the local community. Officials from SORTPO will present the goals, objectives, and strategies of the plan and encourage attendees to share their thoughts and feedback.
